Chittenango Falls is a magical place. Breath taking, actually. This staircase cascade is 167 feet of rushing beauty. The sound alone is incredible as one has to almost yell to have a conversation by the falls. The falls were cut out by glacers and the 40 million year old limestone is littered with fossils. This is also home of the rare and endangered Ovate Amber Snail. Apparently, this is the only place in the world that this particular snail is found. Oh and by the way, Chittenango is a Haudenosaunee word that means "where waters divide and flow north." And yes, this great beauty flows north. Beacause of it's absolute beauty and extremely easy access, Chittenango Falls is a VERY popular destination. This means that there is a lot of strange energy in and out of this place. The Spirits have been calling me here for a few months now. So, finally, it was time to check in and see what was going on and how I could help. Sunday, November 17th, 2024, Teresa and I found ourselves packed for a Shamanic Land Healing Adventure. I had been having visions of where I needed to sit for this work. But when we got there, we realized that it was roped off and protected as the park is working to keep the snails safe from people trampling on them. So we had to take plan B and sat down stream of the falls and bridge on the little beach. The Stone People here are amazing! And they welcomed us graciously. I have to admit that I am always disappointed in the amount of trash humans throw all over the place in these beautiful natural areas. I stressed my disgust to Teresa and how I still can't seem to understand why people think they are better than nature. Do they litter THEIR homes like this? Beer cans and candy bar wrappers strewn about. They probably do. Who knows? It just makes me sad that people are so inconsiderate. Well, I guess that IS why the Spirits called us there in the first place. Sitting on the little beach by this ice cold, rushing water, we both tapped in and asked for the Spirits to come. We asked what was the issue here and how we could help. For me, I originally asked for the Keeper of this Land to come speak to me but instead, I was greeted by the Water Spirits. They said that the energy here was WAY out of balance and was not being appreciated at this time. They showed me images of chaotic energy swirling around the falls and bridge area. And they asked me to help bring some balance back into the space. Well, Reiki was already loudly flowing through me so I assumed that was one of the ways that I could help. So I relaxed and intended for Reiki to flow into the space, charging and balancing the energies. I used a few symbols and even my breath to blow some "calmness" through the Reiki and into the surrounding area. Then, I was shown a snake. And that usually means that I need to call in Kundalini Reiki. The Spirits showed me the river and how it twists and turns like the serpent energy. So I sat closer to the water and directed Kundalini Reiki right into the water. I saw it directly move with the river, twisting, turning, and dancing down stream. After a few more symbols drawn directly into the water, I was done. I felt the Reiki, both Usui and Kundalini, turn off and that was it. My job was done. Ok then. So I sat and gave thanks to the Spirits and my to guides and made sure to remind the Falls of how magnificent it really is. And that that's the reason why people actually come here. I apologized for the inconsiderate folks who wonder down there and leave their garbage, physically and energetically, but also mentioned that there are lots of people who come to appreciate the beauty of nature. Then, something wild and magical happened. Teresa and I were debriefing our experiences and right behind her, out of a mess of tree roots, popped out a rather large raccoon! It was literally 10 feet from her! It came out, sauntered away a little, then turned and looked right at me (see the pic above) staring into my eyes. I froze at first in awe of this lovely creature. Then dug quickly through my bag for my phoen to snap a pic. After a nice long look, it slowly wandered up the hill and disappeared. WHOA! Thank you Spirits for that incredible message! Raccoon Medicine! I LOVE it when Spirit gives these little gifts of medicine and insight. So, now that you have heard my experience here at Chittenango Falls, lets check in and see what Teresa's experience was like....
So majestic, divine, tranquil, and tantalizing. There are times in my life when I crave a waterfall. This waterfall exists 5 mins from my home and was the landmark that existed between the homes of my recent ancestors. In a Journey recently, I was told by Spirit that my power is that of a river. As I was soaking in the magic of the falls, I realized that where my life exists in this moment, it feels like the waterfall. The way that it's falling into the unknown, uncontrollable, but in a systematic way. The sound during our descent down to the bottom of the falls was clearing, cleansing, releasing, and BOOMed. We found our spot behind the bridge with a slightly obstructed view of the falls, but we could still hear it in all it's glory. After grounding into Mother Earth and reaching into the Heavens, we became conduits of bringing transmissions from the Divine to Earth. When we called in a Keeper of the Land, Corner Rock came to me. He was shaped like the corner of a room and formed by the constant rush of water over time. I asked Corner Rock what the land needed for healing and he showed me three cubes of energy and these cubes were disorderly and needed to be lined up in a certain order. And so I did. Corner Rock had another message for me. The land feels a craving for connection. Yes, people visit, but their visits feel empty. They want to feel the love from the visitors and to have the opportunity to share their love, knowledge, and true inner beauty to the public. And we saw it, Erin and I, people seemed to be visiting the falls for the photo op. Snapping photos to look back on later, to share online for likes. How can we make our trips to nature more satisfying, for us and for the land? How can we give back to the land that has held us for so long? Where is the deeper connection? Thank You Corner Rock for being open and sharing this with me. I feel it, I feel you. Thank You Raccoon, for your medicine. I was fearful at first, they say be weary of the raccoon in daylight. But she just wanted to offer her own medicine to us and to be seen and heard. Thank You Erin for inviting me on this Shamanic Land Healing Adventure. I would love to extend an invitation to readers to visit your own sacred land sights in your area and to really sit and connect.
